Garnet is a bright red, fiery crystal of passion and is thought to be one of the oldest crystals. The name ‘garnet’ comes from the Latin granatus, which is a possible reference to the Malum Granatum (the pomegranate) a plant with red seeds similar in shape and color to many garnet crystals. It comes in a variety of colors and can have a dark, strong red color, or it also brownish-red.
